Description: The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is seeking through this Request for Proposals (RFP) qualified contractor(s) to provide canine veterinary medical services for the Department’s K-9 Platoons: Metropolitan Division, Gang and Narcotics Division, and Emergency Services Division’s Bomb Squad and Bomb Detection Canine Unit. These service dogs perform a variety of tasks from sniffing out illegal drugs, to detecting explosives and assisting in the capture of criminals on the run. These dogs often work in volatile and/or uncontrolled environments, and therefore, are more likely to incur injuries and require treatments that are not as common for most household pets.
